Katherine graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University in 2013 with a BSc (Hons) in Sports and Exercise Therapy. Throughout her degree and since graduating, Katherine has gained valuable experience working in a variety of sporting, clinical, and fitness related settings. She has worked with both semi-professional and amateur Rugby Union teams, GB badminton, and diving athletes and is currently the head therapist with an amateur Rugby League Team.
Katherine has recently returned from a year’s work placement in Australia, where she was the Sports Therapist for an Aussie Rules Football team as part of a multidisciplinary team. She worked alongside an Exercise Physiologists and a Physiotherapist. This has further driven her ambition to work and succeed as a Sports Therapist, with particular interest in sport specific training and Injury prevention with the objective to undertake a Master’s degree in Sports Medicine.
Since returning home, Katherine now works as part of a social enterprise in which she assists in the delivery of Special Olympic training working to increase knowledge and break down barriers surrounding disability sport. Additionally, Katherine combines both her love for fitness and her Sports Therapy knowledge as a Personal Trainer working particularly with clients who struggle to access mainstream gym settings.
Katherine is a very keen sports woman and has been from a young age. Her main interest is Hockey where she has competed at county level and represented her University team. She also has interests in swimming, horse riding and generally just being active and keeping fit.
