Jemma Kelleher - Yoga Instructor
I started yoga approximately 10 years ago, primarily to get flexible, toned, and relax from the strains of my job as a Solicitor. I’m very much into health and fitness and yoga has been instrumental. I’ve practiced various forms of yoga including Hatha, Iyenga, Dru, Vinyasa, and Ashtanga. I am currently studying yoga with the British Wheel of Yoga, the governing body for yoga in Britain. The training is very thorough and it can take up to 6 years of yoga practice and studying to become a Diploma holder. I am due to graduate in August 2009.
I have been teaching yoga since 2007. I have taught people from all levels. My main focus is yoga therapy – helping people with specific problems and targeting this with yoga postures and breathing techniques. I do not adhere to any particular school of yoga, instead I use theories from all types to help students get the most out of the session.
In addition to doing lots of yoga, during my spare time I enjoy running and going to the gym. This gives me understanding into how yoga can help athletes and those who exercise. I also love walking and cycling in the great outdoors, traveling, and getting together with friends and family.
Yoga is a way of life for me and I am dedicated to teaching others how yoga can help them achieve their goals – whether it be improving sports performance, toning, energizing, overcoming a health problem or sports injury, or just learning to relax.
