Hypnotherapy - What is it?

Hypnotherapy is, quite simply, the use of hypnosis to treat and relieve a wide range of somatic and psychological symptoms. It is completely safe, with no harmful side effects and the benefits are long lasting and often permanent. The British Medical Association endorsed the practice of hypnosis in Medical School education in 1955, since when it has become a valuable addition to conventional medicine.

Hazel Thomson is a fully qualified and accredited Hypnotherapist. She holds a Diploma and Advanced Diploma from the LCCH as well as a Post Graduate Certificate in Counselling. She has completed the PTI Business Coaching course from the Coaching Academy and she is currently studying Feng Shui at the Feng Shui Academy. She is a member of BSCH.

Hypnotherapy - What happens during a session?

Initially, there is opportunity for the client to explain the symptoms and background of the presenting problem. Thereafter, the hypnotherapist will explain the treatment and the process of hypnotherapy. The client will hear everything that the hypnotherapist says throughout the session, and would be able to open their eyes at any time. The client cannot be made to say or do anything during the hypnosis treatment. Clinical Hypnosis is not the same as stage hypnosis and there is a 2-way communication between client and hypnotherapist.
